A SHORT BIO

“Improvise, Adapt…Overcome”

~ I do not really care about the precise origin of the phrase…my father, Lt. Col. Allen LeRoy Frucci, USMC (deceased), taught me the meaning.

I grew up a Military Brat…specifically a Marine Corps Brat.  Dad was a jet-fighter pilot in the United States Marine Corps for 20 years, so we moved around quite a bit…mostly in the South.  Growing up that way created within me a wanderlust of sorts as I have taken that particular way into adulthood.  The cool thing…or one of them…is that travelling around and meeting new people and cultures excites me and fuels inspiration.

I graduated with honors from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1984 and worked as an Architect for 20 years.  I was fired from my last job as an Architect in 2003 (click here for part of that story) and never went back, although I made a fleeting attempt.  I do love design, but the business of Architecture never really rocked my world.  I acted in, directed and wrote some films beginning in 2005 which fueled the Artist in me…some of them were a complete and utter blast.  I’ve written five screenplays…well…I completed two of them, the other three are in various stages of completion.  The coolest one of those is about the life of my greatest Hero…my Father.  I started working at a Home Depot store in Wilmington, NC in 2007 and now work in a Home Depot store in San Rafael, California while living with my dog, Lucky, on a boat in Sausalito.

For a few years while living in Wilmington, NC, I worked for a Meeting Planning Company, Paragon International.  They sent me all over the world to help run Pharmaceutical Company Investigator Meetings…yeah, it was a very cool job since it tickled my wanderlust bug.

But of all the experiences of my Life thus far…the one which has transformed me into the human I am now…is the sailing adventure I embarked upon on June 9, 2011…and in a way…am still on.  When I came back in December of 2011 from the second part of the adventure, I began to write.  For six months, I became a hermit.  I lived on my 30 foot sailboat, the Sailing Vessel Cuddy with my dog, Lucky.  All I did was walk my dog, eat, work at the Home Depot and write…day after day.  The six months of writing turned into a book, “Path of Three Hundred” and is published along with the first book I wrote, “Inspiration From A Muse: Poems to Her” (that book of poetry I wrote in between legs of the sailing adventure and is actually included in “Path of Three Hundred“).

On March 1, 2013, I sold the S/V Cuddy and moved with Lucky to California with the Dream of finding a way to continue the adventure upon the sea in the Future…and I will.  Selling the Cuddy, my Little She…letting Her go…was perhaps the most difficult moment of my Life given all that She and I have been through together.

With all of the images of the sailing adventure still in my head, I am now painting as well as writing.

  1. Interesting stuff. You seem to walk life’s path bravely, trusting where it takes you.

I always wanted to live on a sailboat, so I encourage you to continue to share your adventures for those who are able to live vicariously through you.😀

    • Thank you Melissa for your words of encouragement to share. The adventure at sea continues into Life on land…which will eventually lead back to the sea again…a circle of Life. While I was at sea, I wasn’t thinking about writing a book (although people suggested I could when I returned). Yet, once back on land, the images and moments out there became so intense…I felt compelled to write. The action of writing became a process of Growth outward into a community of other Souls who feel the same.

Thanks again and please feel free to speak your Truth here anytime. Your blog about Simplicity and Sustainability is of great interest to me. Living on my boat and being at sea has taught me much about how to live in a Simple Way and respecting the Earth in which we all Share.

      Peace to You,
      Greg🙂

  2. Hi Greg thanks for stopping by. There is a great need for this type of material. Your works are going to become more and more influential as each individual experiences purpose exercising itself in their lives. We humans have reached a point where we will lose our ability to be human unless we remember our place in greater creation. Which is where you product has its purpose. As a surfer I know, that it is through the value of nature that we can most effectively reconcile with an understanding of our true nature and identity and its relationship with divine principle. God speed.

    • Thank you Simian! I hope you can download a free Kindle Edition of Path of Three Hundred. The free download begins on September 22nd and runs through the 26th. Even if you do not have a Kindle, you can download the Kindle Reader from Amazon and read the book on your computer. I would love a review from you…whatever you wish to say…🙂

      Peace to you,
      greg

Your thoughts are always welcome...I would Love to hear them :)
