I drove over to the house yesterday evening after finishing the stainless steel rack to support the Solar Panels Jeff Bridgers has constructed off the stern of the Cuddy…packing up stuff…organizing for the move of what I keep to the storage unit over in Leland, NC.
Last night I took Lucky to the Cuddy to sleep…he has been staying over at my cousin Haven’s house this past week during the day and night while I’ve been working and sleeping on the boat. Lucky jumped out of the truck, followed me to the Cuddy, hesitated for a moment and obviously did not want to get on the boat. He ran back up the floating dock ramp, through the parking lot to the truck. I think he likes staying over at Haven’s….she has two other dogs and a big fenced in back yard. I had to pick him up and take him back to the boat. He was fine when we were both on the boat, falling asleep quickly as I worked on the laptop for a while…it was after mid-night.
The moral of the story is…Lucky is better staying behind while I cross the sea…I know this…he knows this.
I will miss him while I am gone for so long. The cool thing is, Lucky will be happy and in a non-stress environment while I am on this voyage. I will fly back here…stay for as long as I need to while the Cool Change Team finishes the Documentary. He and I together will then go wherever we choose…Portugal…Florida…California or someplace where both of us can be together again…that manifestation makes me smile…
